    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) with potential rotation to 11:00–23:00 based on unit needs | 36 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and an average daily census of 3–5 patients on a 6-bed unit
    • Manage post-operative cardiac surgery patients including those recovering from CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, mitral clip procedures, and Inari procedures
    • Monitor and actively manage hemodynamic instability, cardiogenic shock, STEMI/NSTEMI, and patients on multiple inotropic medications during the first 6 hours post-op
    • Operate and monitor advanced cardiac support devices including IABP, Impella, ECMO, and CRRT in coordination with on-site perfusionist and dialysis teams
    • Fulfill every-third-weekend requirement with potential for additional weekend coverage based on unit needs; work holidays as scheduled
    • Float to MSICU as needed and fulfill 24–32 hours of on-call per rotating 6-week schedule
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
    • Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required; first-time travelers with CVICU experience will be considered
    • Current BLS certification (AHA only)
    • Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
    • Current CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
    • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred
    • TCNN certification preferred
