    Travel RN – Cardiac Medical ICU (Nights)

    Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (1900–0730) | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups in a Cardiac Medical ICU setting
    • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
    • Maintain professional accountability for the provision of care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other direct care givers
    • Operate and manage advanced equipment including Impella, IABP, Prismax CRRT, Zoll internal cooling device, and Arctic Sun
    • Care for a complex patient population including sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, GI bleed, DKA, PE, renal failure, liver failure, pancreatitis, and overdose
    • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with established nursing practice guidelines and applicable state regulations
    Required Qualifications
    • Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or hold an active Missouri RN license
    • Minimum 3 years of Cardiac Medical ICU experience (inpatient only)
    • Experience recovering open-heart surgery patients directly from the OR (CVI experience)
    • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
    • NIHSS certification required
    • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • TNCC certification preferred
    • Experience with medical ICU patients with a cardiac emphasis, including arrhythmias, STEMI management, and post-cardiac arrest care
    • Familiarity with EPIC EMR
