Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Cardiovascular ICU setting during night shift hours
- Expected to work 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week cycle, including at least one holiday and the associated holiday weekend
- May be required to float to like units or lower-acuity units across up to 5 hospital campuses within the health system as needed (excluding the ED)
- Complete assigned compliance modules, which are non-billable and must be finished by the Friday following their assigned due date
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN License (Temporary or Permanent; no EMSA) required at time of submission
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- ACLS certification (AHA) required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2+ years of concurrent experience in CVICU or equivalent specialty
- Travel nursing experience required
- EPIC or combined EPIC/Cerner experience within the last 6 months of work history required
- Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO); no new RTO requests accepted after submission
- 1 supervisory-level reference required at time of submission
- Valid copies of all required certifications (including Nursys verification for RNs) must be submitted with application
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates who have been on assignment in the San Diego area for the last 9 or more months are considered local and are not eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating across multi-campus health systems or to step-down and telemetry units
- Familiarity with block scheduling (Friday/Saturday/Sunday availability)
- International travelers must have at least 1 year of recent or current U.S.-based clinical experience
