Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit patients utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of patient care
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and ongoing professional development
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff
- Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Texas
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Stroke certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required; prior travel nursing experience required
- Navy scrubs required; no call required
- Must not be local to the facility — local candidates will not be accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in a CVICU or cardiovascular critical care setting
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity patients in a fast-paced ICU environment
