Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and holidays in rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed mixed ICU setting with patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3, including holding inpatient PCU and med-surg admissions
- Manage complex ICU patients including those requiring ventilator support, CRRT, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, balloon pumps, Impella, and Swan-Ganz catheters
- Care for post-operative Day 0 CABG patients (fresh hearts from the OR) and perform or assist with neuro procedures including EVDs, bolts (Codman), and Arctic Sun induced hypothermia
- Conduct bedside shift report for every patient at each transfer of care
- Float as needed to the Emergency Department or PCU to manage PCU or ICU holds per facility floating policy
- Administer respiratory treatments including inhalers and nebulizers outside of the ICU as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an ICU setting
- Ability to manage up to 1–3 ICU patients and demonstrated comfort caring for ventilated patients
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior CVICU experience strongly preferred
- One previous successful travel nursing assignment, preferably in a facility utilizing Meditech documentation system
- BSN preferred; advanced certifications (e.g., TNCC) preferred
- Advanced skills in CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, phlebotomy, and experience with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, head and neck flap procedures, or neuro ICU care
