    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – CVICU

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Weekdays and Weekends | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to CVICU patients, including fresh open-heart surgery admissions from the OR
    • Perform hemodynamic and pressure monitoring, including Swan-Ganz catheter management
    • Monitor and manage Impella devices and support patients requiring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
    • Perform and interpret Activated Clotting Time (ACT) testing as required by unit protocols
    • Maintain a patient ratio of 1:2, with flexibility to accommodate step-down level overflow patients based on acuity
    • Document all patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in West Virginia or a valid Compact State license (pending license accepted at time of submission)
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with demonstrated CVICU or cardiac surgery experience
    • Activated Clotting Time (ACT) experience required
    • Experience with direct open-heart admissions from the OR, cardiac surgery skills, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT
    • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (BLS and ACLS must be through the American Heart Association)
    • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience is a plus, though not required
    • Familiarity with step-down level care in a high-acuity cardiac environment
    • Ability to adapt to varying patient acuity and unit census fluctuations
