Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit in Largo, MD

Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients in a cardiovascular ICU setting, including those undergoing cardiac surgery (CABG, valve, and combined CABG/valve procedures). Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and cardiogenic shock.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a cardiovascular ICU setting, including those undergoing cardiac surgery (CABG, valve, and combined CABG/valve procedures)
• Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation with RVR, and cardiogenic shock
• Care for vascular surgery patients including peripheral bypasses and EVAR, as well as thoracic surgery patients (VATS)
• Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and holiday coverage as scheduled
• Float within specialty, sister units, and lower-acuity areas as needed; travelers are first to float

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact RN license at time of submission
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only) required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience required; first-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of CVICU/open heart experience
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (permanent address) to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with post-operative cardiac surgery patients including open heart procedures
• Familiarity with vascular and thoracic surgical patient populations
• CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the accepted online option)
