Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization nursing standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
- Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care issues
- Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
- Educate patients and families by assessing readiness to learn and utilizing population-appropriate patient education materials
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
- Experience in a cardiothoracic or cardiovascular intensive care setting
