Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, demonstrating competence in care of patients with complex problems including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, synthesize data from complex situations to determine care priorities, and anticipate discharge needs for individual patients and families
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required and utilize healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care
- Participate in patient and family education by assessing readiness to learn and using population-appropriate education materials
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment while participating in unit goals and performance improvement activities
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
- Experience in a cardiothoracic or cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) setting
