Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a mixed-acuity CVICU environment, managing patient populations ranging from ICU (1:2 ratio) to progressive/step-down levels (1:3-4 ratio, very rare)
• Care for CV surgery and thoracic surgery patients including CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS procedures, as well as cardiovascular and oncology patients across flex acuity levels
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; manage arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines; administer blood products
• Support post-cardiac surgery patients, including those arriving directly or indirectly from the OR
• Operate within a telemetry-equipped, all-private-room unit utilizing Cerner for charting
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospital locations as required

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Indiana RN license - must be in hand prior to start date; pending licenses are not accepted
• ACLS and BLS/BCLS certifications required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
• Comfortable with mixed-acuity assignments ranging from ICU to progressive/PCU-level care
• Must be available to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Indiana residents are not eligible for this position (exceptions apply to Periop/OR, Allied, and Ambulatory RN roles)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD/Impella), and pre/post cardiac cath or intervention including sheath removal
• Experience with ventilated patient care and ventilator management
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
