    Contract (13 Weeks) | Rotating Days and Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required as Scheduled

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular/cardiac intensive care unit serving adult and geriatric populations with a patient ratio of 1:1, up to 1:3 for stable, lower-acuity patients
    • Manage complex cardiac diagnoses including cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, MI, pulmonary hypertension, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
    • Operate and monitor advanced mechanical support devices including Impella, IABP, VAD, CRRT, ventilators, cooling devices, and CCO monitors
    • Assist with and support bedside procedures including central line and arterial line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, Swan/PA catheter insertion, targeted temperature management, and CRRT
    • Participate in advanced therapy workups including LVAD and heart transplant evaluations
    • Float within specialty and to lower-acuity areas as needed per unit requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Maryland RN license or active Compact RN license at time of submission
    • Minimum 2 years of CVICU or CICU experience; first-time travelers with strong CVICU background will be considered
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
    • Current CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the only accepted online option)
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification
    • Ability to float within specialty scope without restrictions
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • CCRN certification preferred
    • Experience with mechanical circulatory support devices including Impella, IABP, and VAD
    • Familiarity with targeted temperature management and CRRT protocols
