    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit)

    Location

    Albuquerque, NM

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite | 36 or 48 contracted hours per week | 10-week minimum assignment length

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic ICU setting at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Manage post-operative open heart surgery patients including CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, and endovascular repair cases
    • Operate and monitor advanced equipment including CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, and arterial lines
    • Perform and assist with bedside procedures including tach/peg placements, surgical procedures, chest tube management, Foley insertion, and NG tube placement
    • Care for patients with complex diagnoses including cardiac arrest, heart failure, MODS, sepsis, and pulmonary embolism
    • Float within scope to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, or PACU to care for admitted patients as facility needs require
    Required Qualifications
    • Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
    • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications (RQI certifications not accepted)
    • Ability to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
    • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (non-local driver's license required on file)
    • Proficiency with Cerner charting system
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior CVICU or CTVICU experience strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with advanced equipment such as Hemosphere, Arctic Sun, Belmont, BairHugger, Glidescope, and Pupilometer
    • Experience caring for patients requiring ECMO, IABP, or Impella support
