- Comfort in managing patients on ventilators.
- Proficient in reading telemetry strips.
- Ability to care for up to 1-3 ICU patients.
- Previous successful travel nursing assignment in a facility that used Meditech.
Description:
This position is for a Rapid Response RN in a mixed ICU setting.
The unit has 28 beds with patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3.
The staffing includes RNs only.
Each care team member is equipped with mobile phones.
Mobile computer workstations on wheels are used for documentation.
The documentation system is Meditech.
Scheduling requires 3 - 12 hour shifts per week, which includes every other weekend.
Travelers are the first to float, which may include assignment to the emergency department or PCU.
Bedside shift reports are used for patient handoffs.
Experience with CRRT and advanced hemodynamics is needed.
Phlebotomy skills are required.
Nurses will administer respiratory treatments outside of the ICU.
Procedures performed include CABG post-operative care, advanced hemodynamics, and neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
Experience with EVDs, bolts, and induced hypothermia is preferred.
A BSN degree is preferred.
Advanced certifications and TNCC certification are also preferred.
There will be opportunities to train in Neuro ICU and Cardiovascular ICU.
Candidates will have the opportunity to care for patients with head and neck flap procedures.
This unit provides a unique program not available in many facilities.
