# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) – New Jersey

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
Highlights:- Work in a 628-bed Level I Trauma Center affiliated with a major university, providing advanced cardiac and vascular care
- CVICU specializes in cardiac surgery, heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices, TAVR, and ECMO
- First facility in New Jersey to achieve Comprehensive Cardiac Center accreditation through The Joint Commission and American Heart Association
- Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2+ depending on acuity and census
- EPIC charting system utilized throughout facility
- Floating required to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units within skillset
Requirements:- Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience (SICU experience may be considered if initial training in CVICU was completed)
- EPIC experience required
- Must have experience with fresh post-operative cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
- Required experience with advanced cardiac devices: Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax
- Proficiency in vented patient care, ventilator management, chest tube management, and BiPAP/CPAP
- Experience with arterial lines, central/PICC lines, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and IV insulin protocols
- Competency in cardiovascular procedures including post-op open heart recovery, temporary pacers, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and critically ill patients
- First-time travelers and local candidates accepted
