Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse – New Jersey

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation required. Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2, depending on acuity and unit assignment. Floating required to ICUs, PACU, Emergency Department (ICU holds), and Intermediate Care units as needed.
Highlights:
- Challenging cardiovascular critical care environment with fresh post-operative open heart patients including CABG, valve repairs/replacements (MVR, AVR), and TAVR procedures
- Advanced critical care equipment including Impella, IABP, CRRT with Prismax, Swan-Ganz catheters, FloTrac monitoring, and temporary pacemakers
- Comprehensive patient population including ventilated patients, chest tubes, lumbar drains, and chronic/acute renal failure management
- Epic electronic medical record system (preferred experience)
- First-time travelers welcomed with appropriate CVICU experience
- Interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and social services
Requirements:
- Active New Jersey or Compact State RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered with initial CVICU training
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Essential equipment experience: Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax OR demonstrated experience with fresh open heart cases
- Required clinical skills: post-operative open heart recovery, Swan-Ganz monitoring, FloTrac, temporary pacemakers, arterial lines, and chest tube management
- Experience with CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR procedures required
- Competency in ventilator management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
