Job Title: CVPICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required Must have experience floating to PICU or NICU License: Active California RN license required Certifications: ACLS BLS PALS Must-Have: Ability to float to PICU or NICU Experience with ventilators 2-3 times per week Willingness to work 4 weekend shifts per month and some holidays Description: The position is for a registered nurse specializing in CVICU. The schedule requires working three 12-hour night shifts. Applicants with a start date of 8/31 will be given priority over those starting on 9/14. Floating to PICU or NICU is required. The patient population is highly variable and primarily surgical. Most patients will be infants or neonates. The acuity of patients varies. ECMO services are provided by technicians. Nurses will manage vents, arterial lines, and central lines. Experience with chest tube management and bedside procedures is necessary. There is no floating to emergency departments or mental health units. The nurse will care for a mix of surgical patients from birth to adulthood. Daily census varies, and the unit has a total of 12 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy and respiratory services. A maximum of seven days off is allowed. References from supervisors in the same specialty are required. Candidates must comply with float requirements and be agreeable to them. All submissions must be completed with required qualifications in mind. No local candidates will be accepted.
