Description

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular ICU – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend rotation, holiday coverage required, no call

Highlights:

  • 27-bed Cardiovascular Cardiothoracic ICU specializing in heart and lung transplants, CABG, valve repair/replacement, LVAD, and complex cardiac surgical patients
  • Patient ratios typically 1-2 patients per nurse; may include up to 3 general care patients based on acuity
  • Dynamic team structure with 2 Charge RNs and 1 Rapid Response Nurse providing direct support to bedside staff
  • Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • Magnet-designated Trauma Level I facility recognized as a leading teaching institution and referral center

Requirements:

  • Current RN license (Wisconsin or compact state)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in CVICU within the last 3 years
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • CVICU experience required with demonstrated competency
  • Experience and knowledge of NxStage CVVH machine required
  • Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, HM3 LVAD, ECMO, and Zoll Thermoguard required
  • Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable areas preferred
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (80% passing score required; 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Must reside 50 miles or more from facility
  • Willingness to float as needed
