This unit specializes in caring for congenital cardiac patients in a critical care setting. The unit has 10 beds and is staffed by a team of 6 RNs. The RN-to-patient ratio is 1:2 for critical care. Candidates must be flexible, organized, and possess strong communication skills. Typical procedures on this unit include post-operative care, inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IVF and chest tube management, and care of post-sternotomy/open chest patients. Moderate sedation may also be performed. Preferred candidates will have skills in peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and ECMO bedside experience.
