Certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred
Must-Have: Competent in invasive line monitoring, pacemaker management, chest tube management, cardiac medication administration, and ventilator/trach management; EPIC experience; specific CV surgical experience preferred.
Description:
Manager is open to 36 or 48 contracts.
Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU.
It is Magnet designated and a comprehensive stroke center.
The unit has 30 beds with an average patient load.
Patient types include immediate post-op CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repairs/replacements, heart transplants, and pacemaker management.
Thoracic surgeries include fresh post-op esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, and lobectomy.
Vascular procedures include fresh post-op AAA, TVAR, and carotid endarterectomy.
Patient ratios are 1:1, 1:2 for regular ICU status, and 1:3 for mixed status.
Tech ratio is 1:8-10.
Support within the department includes a charge nurse, hospitalist onsite, and dedicated intensivists available 24/7.
Telemetry monitoring is conducted bedside and at the nurse’s station without tele tech support.
Preferred travelers should have experience with ECMO, CVVH, or IABP.
Travelers will rotate weekends every other week with 1-2 holiday shifts expected per contract.
Approval for requested time off is permissible up to 7 days.
Shift times are 0700-1900 or 1900-0700 on a 6-week scheduling cycle.
A fatigue policy is enforced where no staff can exceed 60 hours per week or work more than 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts.
Scrub color must be any solid color, professional, without graphics, logos, or designs.
