Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU or Cardiovascular License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CCRN preferred Must-Have: - Strong cardiac experience - Telemetry experience - Ability to float between units Description: This position requires a registered nurse to provide care in the cardiovascular intensive care unit. The nurse will care for patients aged 16 and older with primary cardiac diagnoses. Patient conditions include heart failure, post-cardiac arrest, and cardiothoracic surgery. Experience with IABP therapy, Impella insertion, and post PCI is necessary. The unit consists of a blended setting with 18 ICU and 12 intermediate care beds. A multidisciplinary team approach is utilized to provide excellent patient care. The focus is on growth and mentoring, with specialty training available for staff. Advanced certification is encouraged and promoted within this role. Training covers a wide range of procedures including ventricular assist devices and continuous renal replacement therapy. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in various critical care skills. This includes management of ventilated patients and central line care. Attention to quality patient care and safety in a fast-paced environment is crucial. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams for comprehensive care.
