Certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred
Must-Have:
Competent in invasive line monitoring, including Swan Ganz and arterial lines.
Experience with cardiac medications, ventilator, and tracheostomy management.
Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
Familiarity with EPIC for electronic medical records.
Specific CV surgical experience, including ECMO, CVVH, IABP, and VAD, is preferred.
Description:
The facility is a Level II trauma center with comprehensive stroke capabilities.
It is also a Magnet-designated facility with 933 beds.
The critical care unit has a total of 30 beds and a range of patient diagnoses.
Common diagnoses include immediate post-operative care for CABG, TAVR, valve repairs, heart transplants, and pacemaker management.
Thoracic surgeries include post-operative care for esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, and lobectomy procedures.
Vascular surgeries are also managed, including post-operative care for AAA repairs.
Patient ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2 in regular ICU settings, with a mixed status ratio of 1:3.
A dedicated intensivist and a CT surgeon are available 24/7 for support.
The unit has telemetry monitoring at the bedside and the nurses' station.
There are additional resources for phlebotomy assistance.
Weekend rotations are required every other weekend, with 1-2 holiday shifts expected per contract.
RTO requests of up to 7 days are acceptable.
A fatigue policy is in place to ensure staff, including travelers, do not exceed defined working hours.
Scrubs should be solid color and professional, without graphics or logos.
