Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-26 week contract options available. Schedule includes weekdays and rotating weekends (up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week period: Friday/Saturday for night shift). Rotating holidays required. Float assignment to units of equivalent or lower acuity may be required (no more than once per 4 weeks).
Highlights:
- Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 in a fast-paced cardiovascular intensive care environment
- Advanced cardiac care including post-CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, heart and lung transplants, VAD implantation, and ECMO support
- Epic EMR system utilized facility-wide
- Comprehensive orientation: 36 hours provided
- Interdisciplinary team support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- Contract flexibility with 13 or 26-week options
Requirements:
- Current RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Proficiency in required skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery lines, conscious sedation, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and PA line management
- Experience with advanced equipment: ECMO, CRRT, ventricular assist devices, hemodynamic monitoring, temporary pacemakers, and chest tubes
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Ability to complete urgent credentialing requirements including Ohio fingerprinting process
