Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: - Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required - Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred - Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to starting Description: Evening/Night shifts are available with a schedule of 12 hours. The position includes every other weekend rotation and some holiday shifts. No call duty is required. The CVICU specializes in the care of cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, and cardiac medical patients. Specific patient conditions include CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection repair, heart failure, and arrhythmia management. The nursing team typically provides 1-2 patients per assignment. Staff assignments may change throughout the shift as patients are transferred. A team structure includes Care Team Leaders, Rapid Response Nurses, and RNs. Nursing assistants and clerical support are also part of the unit. The unit utilizes various advanced medical devices and supports a dynamic patient care environment. The expectation is to deliver care that meets both patient and family needs. A telemetry exam will be required prior to the start, with specific pass/fail criteria. Passing scores of 80% or higher are required for the telemetry testing.
