Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night (3x12-Hour) or Day (3x12-Hour) Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience required Telemetry experience required License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required Telemetry test must be passed prior to start Description: Looking for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities include working 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and some holidays. Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Acuity Adaptable areas preferred. Knowledge of advanced cardiac care procedures is essential. The unit specializes in the care of patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries, heart and lung transplants, and patients with cardiac medical issues. Care team consists of Charge Registered Nurses and Rapid Response Nurses along with RNs providing direct patient care. Patient assignments typically range from 1-3 patients based on acuity and staffing resources. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is crucial for patient care. A mixture of technological expertise and compassionate care is expected to meet patient and family needs. The unit features a dynamic environment with a wide range of acuity. Travelers must be able to adapt to changing patient assignments and ongoing procedures. Specialized equipment and procedures will be utilized, requiring familiarity with cardiovascular interventions.
