Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a 16-bed CVICU at a 1:1-2 patient ratio
• Recover post-operative open-heart surgery patients from the OR, including CABG, valve replacement or repair, and aortic dissections
• Care for patients requiring mechanical circulatory support including ECMO (VA and VV), VAD (temporary or destination therapy), and Swan-Ganz catheter management
• Support heart and lung transplant patients throughout the care continuum
• Utilize Cerner EMR, Philips monitoring systems, Plum ICU Medical IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing
• Float to other ICUs as needed, approximately once every couple of months

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Kentucky
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency in all ICU skills, including VAD experience and Swan-Ganz management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with ECMO (VA and/or VV) management
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR in a critical care setting
• Prior experience with heart or lung transplant patient populations
