# Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – Ohio
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 36 hours per week, day or night shift rotation. Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Saturday/Sunday for day shift, Friday/Saturday for night shift). Rotating holidays. Float requirements within units of equivalent or lower acuity, typically no more than once every 4 weeks.
Highlights:- Cardiovascular ICU environment specializing in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic critical care patients including CABG, valve repair, TAVR, heart and lung transplants, VAD implantation, ECMO, and complex aortic and esophageal repairs
- Estimated patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2, allowing for focused, high-quality patient care in a 30-bed unit
- Epic electronic medical record system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Work with advanced technologies including ventricular assist devices, ECMO, CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, Impella, and temporary pacemakers
- 36 hours of structured orientation to ensure smooth transition into the unit
- Travel assignment with potential for local candidates at competitive rates
Requirements:- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac ICU experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Demonstrated competency in essential skills including IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz monitoring, conscious sedation, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and pulmonary artery lines
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
- Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role; charge nurse acceptable for second reference
- Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
