Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night and Day shifts available Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Cardiac ICU preferred License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - 22 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred - Epic experience required - Previous travel experience preferred Description: This position requires flexible scheduling, including weekdays, weekends, and rotating holidays. Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed. Ideal candidates will have strong skills in IV starts, telemetry, ventilators, Swan Ganz catheters, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and pulmonary artery lines. Candidates must be comfortable managing high-acuity cardiac patients. Estimated patient ratios typically range from 1:1 to 2:2. Daily census includes patients recovering from cardiac surgery, structural repairs, and transplant procedures. Nurses will manage complex patient diagnoses, including low cardiac output syndrome, stroke, and acute respiratory failure. Unit support includes interdisciplinary teams from various specialties. Special equipment utilized includes ECMO devices, ventilators, and hemodynamic monitoring systems. Candidates must be prepared for a fast-paced, critical care environment.
