Job Title: Cardio-thoracic ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: Vents experience IV start experience Pulmonary artery line experience Travel experience Description: Position requires a Cardio-thoracic ICU Registered Nurse. Candidate will work 3x12 hour shifts during the day or night. Ratios for patient care are 1:1. Experience in a critical care setting is required. Candidates must work weekends unless otherwise noted on the schedule. Certifications in ACLS and BLS are mandatory. No call responsibilities are required for this position. Candidates may float to other ICU units within the facility. Travelers are not required to float to other facilities. Block scheduling is generally not accommodated unless specified. Local candidates are accepted. The role requires experience with ventilators, IV starts, PA lines, and travel. Candidates will care for post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. Experience with mechanical circulatory support, EPS, heart failure, and heart and lung transplants is preferred. Additional skills needed include monitoring dysrhythmias and managing devices such as IABP and LVAD/RVAD. Our facility utilizes EPIC for charting. Previous charge experience is preferred but not required. Candidate references should include supervisory personnel. Modules will be required to be completed pre-start, and hours will vary based on role. Compliance with all requirements is necessary prior to commencement.
