Job Title: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Cardiac Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Cardiovascular ICU License: Current Indiana or compact RN license Certifications: BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only) Must-Have: Open-heart recovery experience preferred Description: This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Cardiovascular ICU setting. Candidates must hold a current Indiana or compact RN license. BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA are required. The role involves floating to step down and progressive care units as needed. Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 facility is preferred. The unit features a mixed acuity environment. Nurses care for patients directly after the operating room. They remain in the unit throughout their cardiovascular stay. Nurse to patient ratios vary: 1:1 or 1:2 on the ICU side and 1:3 or 1:4 on the step-down side. EPIC charting and Pyxis are utilized in this department. Professional dress code is Caribbean Blue scrubs. Mandatory attendance for orientation is required for new hires.
