Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 facility is preferred. The unit features a mixed acuity environment. Nurses care for patients directly after the operating room. They remain in the unit throughout their cardiovascular stay. Nurse to patient ratios vary: 1:1 or 1:2 on the ICU side and 1:3 or 1:4 on the step-down side. EPIC charting and Pyxis are utilized in this department. Professional dress code is Caribbean Blue scrubs. Mandatory attendance for orientation is required for new hires.
