Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering immediately post-operatively from open-heart surgery, maintaining a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio on the ICU side
- Transition and support patients as they move from ICU-level care to progressive/step-down level care within a mixed-acuity cardiovascular unit, with ratios of 1:3 or 1:4 on the step-down side
- Float to like units and progressive/step-down units as needed, with a float-down ratio of 1:3
- Accurately document patient care using EPIC electronic health records and utilize Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Participate in a mandatory 3-day orientation (Monday-Wednesday, Week 1); orientation shift will be scheduled following education days within the first week - attendance is required for all 3 days
Required Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiovascular ICU setting
- Current Indiana RN license or compact RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard rate; candidates within 50 miles are subject to a local rate adjustment
Preferred Experience / Skills- Open-heart recovery experience strongly preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 facility preferred
