The nurse will provide care for critically ill patients with cardiovascular conditions. Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction is essential. The nurse will be involved in the management and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Skills related to intra-aortic balloon pump management and central line care are required. Candidates must be comfortable with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac drips. Experience with ventilated patients and interpretation of arterial blood gases is important. The unit supports a variety of interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services and physical therapy. Patients will range from adults to geriatrics with diagnoses such as STEMI and cardiac arrest. It is expected that candidates have experience in high-acuity intensive care settings. Travel experience is required for this position. An understanding of maintaining isolation precautions and PPE is necessary.
