Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: Current RN license required Certifications: None required; CCRN recommended Must-Have: Titration of vesicant medications. Familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics. Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, and telemetry interpretation. Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation. Experience with transvenous pacing and cardioversion. Familiarity with TEE and chest tube insertions and maintenance. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the CVICU specialty. The unit consists of 16 beds with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity. RNs staff the unit with no unit clerks or patient care technicians available. The equipment used includes ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, and CRRT Impella. Documentation is handled through a specific electronic health record system. The nurse will be required to work 36 hours per week with alternating weekends. This role may involve floating to various areas as needed. Experience in an intensive care unit is required for consideration. Advanced skills in IABP, Impella, and CRRT procedures are desirable. The nurse will perform various procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis. The dress code entails adherence to specific uniform colors, with no pullovers or hoodies allowed.
