Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed cardiovascular ICU setting with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity)
  • Perform titration of vesicant medications and manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics
  • Operate and monitor ventilators, manage tracheostomy patients, and interpret telemetry
  • Demonstrate understanding of hemodynamics, including PA catheter setup and interpretation, and transvenous pacing
  • Support bedside procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
  • Document all patient care using Cerner; travelers are expected to float to all areas as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
  • Proficiency in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
  • Experience with mechanical ventilators and tracheostomy management
  • Competency in telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring, including PA catheter setup and interpretation
  • Willingness to float to all areas per unit policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • CCRN certification preferred
  • Experience with IABP, Impella, and/or CRRT
  • Familiarity with hypothermia protocols and advanced cardiovascular monitoring equipment
  • Experience with TEE and chest tube maintenance
