Staffing includes primary nursing, with unit secretaries and tech availability. The documentation system used is Meditech Expanse. Scheduling requires 36 hours per week, including three weekend shifts every four weeks. The floating policy allows for the same patient ratio as the unit to which the nurse is floated. The focus is on delivering high-quality patient experiences in a demanding critical care environment. A new cardiac surgery program is being launched on the unit.
