Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in CVICU required. License: Compact or Kentucky State License required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; CCRN preferred. Must-Have: - 2 years of CVICU experience required. - ECMO experience is preferred. - Must work 3 out of 5 winter holidays. - Medical or religious exemptions for COVID-19 and flu vaccines are allowed. Description: This role requires a registered nurse with a strong background in critical care. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience. The position requires certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS, with CCRN preferred. Experience with ECMO is advantageous. The nurse will provide care for patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions. Skills in arterial line management, central line care, and ventilator management are essential. Candidates should be adept in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips. The unit supports a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary collaboration is a key aspect of the role, with access to various support services. Patient diagnosis includes heart and lung transplants, CABG, STEMI, ARDS, and more. This position requires floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed. Rehire eligibility will be checked, and prior employment at the facility must be disclosed. A reference is required at the time of submission. The role includes participation in ongoing training and competency assessments.
