Job Title: Cardiac Mechanical Support Coordinator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 5x8 (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: - Minimum of two years work experience as a registered nurse. - Prefer a minimum of one year clinical work experience in managing advanced heart failure patients. - One year CTICU and VAD Coordinator experience is a plus. License: - South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License in hand. Certifications: - BLS Must-Have: - Experience with Durable MCS (HM 3, Heartware, BrioVAD), IABP, and Impella Devices. - Strong cardiac background and experience with VAD, IABP, and Impella. Description: The role of this individual will be to round on both inpatient and outpatient individuals. They will service and troubleshoot devices both inpatient and in clinic. They are considered Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). They need to have appropriate knowledge of the devices and feel comfortable with them. Weekend requirements include one weekend per month and one weekday of call. The clinician may float within their scope to meet facility needs. Open to accommodating block schedule, requires manager approval upon request. Local candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis. During hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. Travelers should ensure they do not confirm new or extended assignments during hurricane season, which runs from June through November each year. All labs are to be completed within 72 hours of signing if within 90 days of start. If a candidate has vacation planned during the compliance process, they must complete all labs prior to departure. Modules are non-billable, with an average of four hours spent on modules, which are included in non-billable hours. Modules must be completed pre-start and will be reported by the facility.
