Job Title: RN CVICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: - Background in Critical Care/Cardiac Critical Care - Open heart recovery experience - Post-cardiac procedure recovery experience Description: The unit consists of 8 beds with a patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:3. Patient population includes post-surgical management for cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries. Will manage patients post-thoracotomies, TAVRs, and post-complex PCI interventions. Key procedures include post-open heart recovery and post-cardiac procedure management. Skills required include surgical nursing care, central line placements, arterial line placements, and chest tube placements. Familiarity with Edwards monitoring and GE monitoring systems is essential. Knowledge of SWAN Ganz catheters is also required.
