Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in CVICU or CVRU License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Candidates must have critical care training and a passion for surgical heart care. Description: This is a 19-bed mixed unit, providing high acuity cardiac care. Nurse-to-patient ratios vary between 1:1 and 1:2, depending on acuity. Hold over downgraded patients may have a 1:3 ratio. The unit is staffed with highly trained charge nurses available for assistance. An educator will guide your orientation process. The unit performs approximately 850 heart surgeries annually. Core nurses are trained in critical care, heart care, recovery, and device management. An ECMO team is present for those needing support, alongside regular use of Impellas, IABP, and LVADs. The environment is friendly and focused on providing exceptional care. Equipment includes GE monitors and a Cerner EMR system. Candidates should possess strong critical care and cardiac skills. The ideal candidate is energetic, friendly, and committed to lifelong learning. Floating to other units may be required as needed. Dress code consists of navy blue or white scrubs, nursing shoes, and hair secured off the shoulder. Nurses are expected to arrive prepared for their shift. Weekend and on-call requirements are every other weekend, with extra days off available. A supportive team environment promotes safety and collaboration.
