Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – West Virginia

Schedule: 3x12 night shifts (weekdays and weekends), 1:2 patient ratio based on acuity
Highlights:
- 10-bed specialized Cardiac Care Unit primarily serving cardiothoracic surgery patients including CABG, valve replacements, thoracotomies, and carotid endarterectomies
- Direct admission of fresh open-heart patients from OR with advanced cardiac surgical care
- Advanced monitoring including Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, IABP, and CRRT experience required
- ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience is mandatory for this position
- 13-week contract with possibility of extension; blocked schedules considered
- EMR system: Cerner
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 24 hours of orientation provided; may occasionally float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit
Requirements:
- Active RN License (West Virginia or Compact state license accepted; pending license considered for submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale
- Must have ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience
- Extensive experience required in: direct open-heart admissions from OR, cardiac surgery skills, arterial line management, pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, CRRT, ventilator management, and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and post-cardiac surgery care
- Permanent address must be at least 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
- Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
