Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - $1,965 per week in North Charleston, SC

Work within a well-established, team-oriented ICU environment utilizing current technology including i-mobile phones and mobile computer workstations, in a coastal city known for its culture, history, and quality of life. Manage ICU patients including post-op day 0 CABG (fresh hearts from OR), Impellas, balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz catheters, and advanced hemodynamics.

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified CVICU RN in North Charleston, South Carolina, 29406!

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed mixed ICU setting with patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3, including holding inpatient PCU and med-surg admissions
• Manage ICU patients including post-op day 0 CABG (fresh hearts from OR), Impellas, balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz catheters, and advanced hemodynamics
• Care for neuro patients including aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, bolts (Codman), and Arctic Sun induced hypothermia
• Administer respiratory treatments (inhalers and nebulizers) outside of the ICU as needed
• Conduct bedside shift report for every patient at each transfer of care
• Float as needed, including to the emergency department or PCU to care for PCU or ICU holds; travelers are first to float per unit policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 36 months of RN experience, including at least one year in an ICU setting
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• At least one previous successful travel nursing assignment
• Ability to manage up to 1-3 ICU patients simultaneously, including patients on mechanical ventilation
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Comfortable with bedside shift report at every transfer of care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior CVICU experience strongly preferred
• Experience with CRRT and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Previous experience with Meditech documentation system
• BSN, advanced certifications (e.g., CCRN), and/or TNCC certification preferred
