Job Title: CVICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years required License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Must have experience in direct fresh open-heart admissions from OR - Experience with pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT Description: The CVICU RN will be responsible for caring for patients in the cardiovascular intensive care setting. Candidates must have experience with activated clotting time. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:2, which may vary based on unit acuity. Experience in direct open-heart admissions from the operating room is essential. Skills needed include management of dysrhythmias, ventilator management, and care of ventilated patients. Candidates must be proficient in central line care and management. Experience with arterial line management and post cardiac surgery care is required. Successful candidates will also have experience with blood product administration and procedural sedation monitoring. The unit provides care for post-cardiac surgery patients, including CABGs and valve repairs. The role may involve occasional float to other units as needed. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical judgment and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
