Description

Job Opportunity – CVICU Registered Nurse – South Texas

Start Date: June 26, 2026

Location: San Antonio, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days (7:00am-7:30pm) and nights (7:00pm-7:30am); 36 guaranteed hours per week; rotating weekends; no call required

Highlights:

  • 13 or 26 week assignment in a well-established Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit supporting complex cardiac cases
  • Experience with CVICU devices essential, including post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-catheterization patients with cardiac support devices
  • EMR system: Meditech for charting and order entry
  • Minimum 2 years ICU experience required with strong critical thinking skills
  • Exposure to IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), Impella, ECMO, and CRRT preferred
  • Rotating float requirements according to facility policy

Requirements:

  • Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years ICU experience required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • Demonstrated competency in hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines)
  • Ventilator management experience required
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
  • Dress code: Navy scrub top and pants with navy or white scrub jacket; professional appearance standards apply
