Description

Job Title: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ICU setting. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale required. Must-Have: Ability to care for up to 1-3 ICU patients and manage patients on ventilators. Proficient in reading telemetry strips. Previous successful travel nursing assignment in a facility using Meditech is preferred. Description: Traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. Expectations include working every other weekend and holidays in rotation with permanent employees. Unit specifics include a patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3. Travelers are the first to float and may be sent to the emergency department or PCU to care for ICU holds. Bedside shift report is the method of patient handoff. Additional skills preferred include CRRT and advanced hemodynamics. Experience with neuro procedures is desired. Post-op day 0 CABG care includes managing fresh hearts from the OR, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, and advanced hemodynamics. Travelers willing to learn are encouraged, especially for neuro ICU and cardiovascular ICU nursing. Opportunities to train for head and neck flap procedures are available.
