Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiology for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois.
Job Summary (Staff Registered Nurse):
- Provides professional nursing care to a group of patients within a designated time frame using the nursing process.
- Assumes responsibility for patient care, utilizing current nursing trends, technology, and resources in alignment with institutional philosophy.
- Performs all required unit-based responsibilities and duties within the scope of service.
- Implements procedures and clinical theories relevant to the assigned area of practice.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation to support continuity of care and information sharing among the healthcare team.
- Conducts initial patient assessments upon admission and develops individualized care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implements and modifies care plans and interventions based on ongoing patient evaluations.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to resolve issues and support patient care.
- Provides constructive feedback and collaborates with colleagues for professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Identifies personal learning needs and actively seeks opportunities for professional growth.
- Meets all departmental competency requirements.
- Manages care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Collaboratively sets patient goals and maintains care plans with patients and families.
- Administers medications, monitors effects, and implements other interventions as needed.
- Prepares patients for procedures, manages pain, performs IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitors laboratory values.
- Coordinates patient discharges and provides education for safe transitions from hospital care.
- Documents all care activities in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Facilitates team huddles and ensures effective team communication.
- Delegates tasks appropriately and follows up to ensure completion.
- Responds promptly to call lights and addresses basic patient care needs (e.g., turning, toileting).
- Manages conflicts and maintains professional communication with all team members.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
Med Ninjas Job ID #16468. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
