Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required, plus 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in a 6-week period. Contract available for 20+ weeks through February 27, 2027.

Highlights:
  • High-volume cardiac and stroke telemetry unit with rapid patient turnover (78-90 patients weekly)
  • Primary focus on pre/post cardiac procedures including pacemaker implantation, cardiac catheterization, ICD placement, and peripheral vascular procedures
  • Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with team lead support for admissions and discharges
  • Manage multiple cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone with titration responsibilities
  • Epic (Dimensions) charting system with 36-hour structured orientation
  • Call and float requirements apply based on unit census and facility needs
Requirements:
  • Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience in a high-acuity telemetry or stepdown environment
  • Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
  • Strong IV insertion and telemetry monitoring skills required
  • Experience with cardiac drip management, PCI patients, and pre/post-procedure cardiac care
  • Comfortable managing 6-patient assignments in fast-paced environments
  • Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
  • Ability to care for patients on high-flow oxygen, BiPAP (chronic use only), and telemetry monitoring
  • First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
