Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48 hours per week available, 8 weekend shifts per contract
Highlights:
- Fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit specializing in high-acuity cardiac patients including arrhythmias, MI, ACS, heart failure, and post-cardiac procedures
- 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with average daily census of 23 patients
- 3-day orientation including EPIC training and hands-on unit training
- Collaborative team environment with no charge nurse structure – teamwork is essential
- Contract length of 13 weeks or longer available, with floating required to other units as needed
- EPIC charting system with PYXIS medication management and SBAR communication protocols
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required
- Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Experience managing cardiac drips (no blood pressure titration required)
- Strong skills in central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and non-invasive airway management
- First-time travelers accepted with stepdown experience preferred
- Must complete EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
