Schedule: 12-hour shifts with weekend rotation (typically every other weekend); patient ratio 1:5-6 on days and nights, up to 1:6 on weekends; 32-bed unit; floating within facility/scope of practice as needed; call is rare with 2-hour response time
Highlights:
- Intermediate Care Unit (overflow IMCU) managing cardiac, pulmonary, renal, and post-procedure patients
- Cardiac drip experience required: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, as well as diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips
- Epic EMR preferred; unit also utilizes Pyxis and SBAR communication
- Patient population includes adults to geriatrics with conditions such as CHF, arrhythmias, DKA, post-cardiac cath, PE/DVT, and select surgical patients
- Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, phlebotomy, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
- Travel assignment with up to 7 days of requested time off per contract; holiday coverage required based on assignment dates
Requirements:
- Active Georgia or Compact State RN license required at time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in progressive care, step-down, or intermediate care settings
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Demonstrated competency managing continuous IV medications including cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips
- Experience with arrhythmia management, cardioversion, TR bands, post-cardiac catheterization care, and med-surg patient care
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Full compliance documentation required prior to start date
