    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry

    Location

    Wilmington, NC | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a Cardiac Telemetry/Stepdown unit managing diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valvular conditions, Cardiomyopathy, and vascular conditions
    • Monitor and care for post-procedural patients following CABG, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman), carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, post-cath, post-DCCV, and electrophysiology procedures
    • Operate and manage specialized equipment including arterial lines, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, Doppler, bladder scanner, and EKG
    • Utilize Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
    • Float to other units as needed and provide weekend coverage (expected 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period); holidays required
    • May be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
    • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
    • Must be willing to work holidays (expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays) and provide weekend coverage
    • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted; a local rate applies
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • NIHSS certification preferred
    • Experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Stepdown settings preferred
    • Familiarity with sheath management and removal
    • First-time travelers welcome provided minimum cardiac experience requirement is met
