Operate and manage specialized equipment including arterial lines, chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Doppler, bladder scanner, and EKG. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a cardiac stepdown unit managing diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, aortic and mitral valve conditions, cardiomyopathy, and vascular conditions.
Provide direct patient care on a cardiac stepdown unit managing diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, aortic and mitral valve conditions, cardiomyopathy, and vascular conditions
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias, and manage cardiac drips including titration as required
Perform and assist with sheath management and sheath removal, and support pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care
Care for post-surgical patients following procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO, VATS, carotid endarterectomy, and other vascular and thoracic surgeries

Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC, administer medications via Pyxis, and communicate using SBAR methodology; float within the unit rotation as required
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience on a cardiac floor
Travel nursing experience required unless the candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac-specific experience
Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-MI care, and management of cardiac drips
Experience with non-invasive airway management including external CPAP/BiPAP, nasal cannula, and chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac)
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; must pass EKG testing prior to start
